If ever you needed proof that bigger isn’t always better, then look no further than Europe – the smallest continent apart from Oceania, but arguably one of the most packed in terms of things to see and do. Whether it’s the western seaboard of Portugal, or the many Greek islands on the continent’s east side. From the Norwegian Fjords of the north to the Maltese beaches of the south, Europe really does cater for all travellers.
We also haven’t even begun to mention some of the incredible cities and towns scattered through the continent that you could visit on a European Tour – heavy hitters like Paris, Rome and Berlin, as well as the perhaps lesser known capital cities of the Balkan and Baltic regions. In fact, the Balkans are very
much the flavour of the month for many keen travellers right now.
But while you’re travelling, why not try something a little bit different? Sure, the excitement of flying to a new city or destination is incredible, but what if you could become king or queen of the waves for a brief moment in time?
Cruising ‘round the Med
Well you can get the best P&O cruises around the Mediterranean now, allowing you to see the likes of Malta and Tenerife, as well as countless other majestic sights on one of the most beautiful seas to grace the planet. It may only be a thin strip of ocean, but it certainly packs a lot in.
Whether it’s sunny beaches, glorious cuisine, ice cold beer, historical fascination, or all of the above and more, you could do a heck of a lot worse than traveling the Mediterranean on a European Tour. Chances are your boss will have to drag you away once the last night of cruising is over, but you’ll have memories and views that will remain with you forever.
Said views can only be seen from the luxury of a cruise, which makes them all the more special. You’ll also be living the dream on board with more than enough to keep you fed and entertained to the maximum.
Cheap and cheerful European tour?
If you’re after something a little more in budget, then there are countless cruises leaving from the UK that sail around the likes of Guernsey, Amsterdam, Bruges and countless other exciting and impossibly beautiful European destinations.
You may even look to go further east and take in a Danube cruise through the likes of Budapest and Bratislava, where food and drink are incredibly cheap in comparison to the UK. Make the most of that and sink a few beers on a river cruise, alongside a wonderful bowl of Hungarian goulash.
Then you’ve got Amsterdam, which in the summer, can be a magnificent place to spend a few days. You’ll be hard pressed to find a more pleasant city on the eye when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. Just watch out for cyclists coming from all directions if you can.
It’s safe to say we’re in a golden age of travel, with cruises starting to make a significant comeback after a difficult few years of pandemic related misfortune. With all manner of excellent destinations awaiting your visit, why not take the plunge and take a load off at sea for a couple of weeks? You’ve earned it.
