Simple Ideas to Modernise Your Garden | Home

If you think that your garden is a little outdated and could get updated to look more modern, then you could think of a whole garden renovation. That, however, is likely to not need to be the case as there are a range of additions and changes that you can make to the garden, without having to give it all a complete overhaul. You are likely to be quite surprised by just how little you will need to do in order to modernise your garden.

If you’re not sure where to start with this kind of thing, then here are some ideas to help you to get planning and thinking, so that your garden can become a modern masterpiece.

Modernise Your Garden

Modernise your garden with Funky seating

If you want to add style to any outdoor space, then think about what seating you have. Is it old and metal and rusting? Then it won’t exactly scream modern and stylish. If it is old plastic furniture that has been around for years, then that won’t be a good look either. With a funky and modern furniture set in the garden, you can instantly update it.

Dug out trampoline

Have children, or are just a big kid at heart? One way to modernise your space could be to have a trampoline that is dug into the floor. There is no risk of falling from a height, and it is so subtle that it will just add a modern twist to the space. If this won’t work for you, then you just need to think about building a trampoline base so that it is level and safe. If your garden is uneven or slanted, then it won’t be a good look to add a trampoline to it.

Create a living wall to modernise your garden

So often in gardens we have flower beds or pots dotted around, filled with herbs, plants, and flowers. If you want to give the space a more modern look then it can be a good idea to create a living wall instead. This is using up vertical space in the garden, that not only looks good, but can grow the plants that you want, and offer shade or privacy if required; they’re very good for the environment too.

Use the garden height

Just like you would with a room in the home, if there is a lot of clutter on the floor and items that are taking up floor space, it can look cluttered and messy; not modern at all. If you want to create a more modern looking garden, using the height will make a difference. This could be using fences to hold planters higher up, or using a wall to house decorations or a flowerbed. Free up the lawn or patio space floor, and it will make it look much better.

This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to modernising your garden. Simple changes is all that it takes, so there will be something to suit everyone’s budget.
