What with all this coronavirus business going on, it’s unlikely that we’re going to be spending all that much time with our friends and family members in the coming months. Instead, we’ll have to get used to talking on the phone and having video calls. However, it’s important to remember that it won’t be like this forever. We’re taking measures now that’ll flatten the curve, which means our summer plans can remain intact. And what better to celebrate things returning back to normal than by hosting garden party with your loved ones? The sun will be shining, everyone will be happy — it’ll be a magical day. We take a look at a few ways to make it a reality below.
Give Plenty of Notice for your garden party
People are cancelling their plans for the next month, but they’ll start to look forward to summer plans soon enough. If you want as many people as possible to attend your party, then it’s best to pick a date as soon as possible. Just pick one day in July, and let everyone know, so they can get it in their diary. Alternatively, you can use a website that allows everyone to select which dates work for them.
Stocking Up
It’s not a party without some delicious food and drinks! Since you’re doing it during the summer, it’ll be best to stock up on BBQ foods (and of course, invest in a BBQ if you don’t have one). As well as the main BBQ foods, you’ll want to have snacks and other easily grabbable foods. From there, it’ll be all about the refreshments. Be sure to have a selection of wines, beer, spirits, and soft drinks, so everyone can have what they like.
Get the Look
This isn’t just any old get-together: you want this one to be extra special. Indeed, if everything goes well, it’ll be the party of the summer. So don’t just put out a few extra chairs and be done with it: take it seriously, and get the professional look. A mobile bar hire will give the event a real party atmosphere, and you can even consider hiring some event staff to wait on your family. A gazebo is also recommended, since, this being the UK, you never know when you might experience a twenty minute downpour.
Add the Fun
Don’t forget to add the fun either! You’ll always have a good time when you put all your family together, but it’s worthwhile making this a little extra special. For example, you could hire a bouncy castle, especially if there’s a lot of kids around. A DJ could also be a good idea, it’s always fun to have some bangers blaring. Just be sure to invite all of your neighbours to the party, so they don’t complain about the noise. Those things, plus a cheery atmosphere and good vibe, will ensure that the party goes down as one to remember for all the right reasons.
